Designed to protect the boom and cradle from excessive wear caused by folding and unfolding the boom.
The cradle and boom become burred and rough over time which cause the boom to bind into the nest and raising the boom become difficult.  The Boom Nest guards are designed to slide, roll and cushion the two mating boom surfaces preventing metal on metal contact.
